You want to avoid hysterectomy, surgery for urinary incontinence or prolapse surgery for cystocele or rectocele?

"Susan" * had a hysterectomy and bladder "terminate" elective surgery for relief of incontinence. It leaked so badly that he was urinating like a prisoner at home, chained to the bathroom. After only two weeks of Kegel exercises, she was able to take a walk three miles almost without losses. Three months later, she says kegels have "given back my life and my freedom."

"Ann" had trouble moving their bowels due to rectocele (rectal prolapse). She had been doing Kegel exercises for years, but she was doing them incorrectly, without major benefits. She was planning the surgery to treat rectocele, but after two weeks of doing kegels right, the doctors could not find the rectocele more.

Hundreds of thousands of women undergo pelvic surgery every year to treat incontinence or prolapse (cystocele, rectocele, or uterine prolapse). For many women, surgery help. For others, surgery does not solve the problem, or creates new problems that could be even worse.

Surgery may work well for some women. But before rushing into surgery kegels consider it a try.

I'm not talking about a kegels here and there when you happen to think about it. That kegels approach will not work. I'm talking about learning to do these exercises correctly - to contract the muscles of the right, the right amount of time, the number correct times a day, using the correct and proper breathing. Sounds like a lot of work? Not really, all you need is a couple of hours to learn and a minutes a day to actually do it. Kegel exercises require your commitment, but for those who experience the benefits of Kegel exercises, which is an investment small for the huge positive gain.

The surgery is potentially dangerous (can lead to many complications - ironically, including prolapse). Normally involves painful recovery, and always expensive. (And I do not know about you, but for me, the idea of getting the sensitive, intimate parts of my body cut and sewn above is not my idea of a good time!)

Kegel exercises are completely safe: the time it does well, it is literally impossible to hurt yourself. You can do exercises at home on their own, while maintaining their independence and personal power intact. Kegel exercises are painless. It can actually be fun and relaxing! No drugs, no complications. Doing Kegel exercises is free. And the side effect is kegels? Better sex. No wonder women love kegels!

Has Living with prolapse or incontinence? Have you been considering a hysterectomy, incontinence surgery or prolapse surgery other? Talk with your healthcare team, and study the possibility kegels a try - real kegels, well done. You have nothing to lose, and you may have everything to gain.

* Susan and Ann are real women. Their names have been changed here to protect your privacy.
