Aspect
The Cleveland CG14 is very strong in search of a wedge. In the past, even recent past, I felt Cleveland wedges were a little too rounded for my taste. I had a gap wedge CG11, loved the performance, but not too thrilled with the look at address. The CG14 is a round little less in the overall shape, looking more like other "modern" wedges.
The rear light well hidden cavity, and the large face inspire much confidence in the leadership. The chrome finish on the model we tested could be used like a mirror. The grooves are mate, and the reflections in addressing the ball at noon are not so bad (Cleveland CG14). If you're bothered style that look, a look at the CG14 Black Pearl wedges, are very strong as well.
Performance
As mentioned earlier, the size of the club face really inspires some confidence. The floor of the club also very soft, and seems to slip on the grass or grass quite well. When I lay down Cleveland CG14 down, usually I felt very comfortable playing just about any shot. The milling on the leading edge is very smooth, and the low bounce, definitely feel as if it would be very easy to remove petroleum jelly shots with this club.
With my current configuration of the bag (Eidolon 56 *, 60 * TM Rac) rarely hit 60 * for anything but very tight lies, I do not feel comfortable with it. I usually use the * 56 for almost everything within 50 yards. I played a lot of shots with * 60 CG14, and I was pleasantly surprised. The rack slots provide plenty of bite, the pair of slots my 6 months old Eidolon. And with the * 60 also I can land the ball much more smoothly.
