Taylor Made Golf Putters
Although Taylor Made is best known for its drivers, fairway woods and hybrids, the company has an interesting line of putters. There are 10 putters offered, and one of the unique features of them is the cover of Rossa, which uses a technology called AGSI meaning Slip Groove System Insert. This will insert groove 14 can actually be applied to any putter, and has shown that simply adding the face insert putter produced a less drag, and the ball will start rolling faster. This, of course, improve the line of the ball rolls, in which supposedly improves distance control for the golfer too. At this point, the ten attributes offered by Taylor Made putters will be described.
The Corzine is a mallet putter and the club, but the body is what is called a wire frame construction. Instead of a solid deck, the back of the putter is composed of two semicircular bands of metal that come together in half of the back and connected to a bar that stretches behind the putter face. This design is clearly putting weight on the perimeter of the clubhead for increased MOI (moment of inertia), which means more forgiveness for putts not hit exactly on the sweet spot. The head is made of 304 stainless steel and has a black finish for an attractive look. The AGSI insert slip is of course included in this putter and all the putters in the product line.
The Tourism adds another feature technology in addition to their different head shape and design. That is, incorporates what is called MWT or furniture Weight Technology. There are two ports on the back of putter where the weight can add or subtract to customize the feel of the putter. The head shape is a reverse trapezoid which means that the rear of the putter is longer than the face. Put as much weight back and around the perimeter of the putter head is aimed at increasing MOI. The wire frame construction technique also Tourism is used in, and of course the AGSI insert is included as well. Once again, the putter is made of 304 stainless steel and has an attractive black finish.
Another trapezoid is invoked with the model of Inza, although this time the putter is more solid future and construction of the frame wire is not used. A Again, this is used to increase MOI. The Inza also uses moving weights to customize the putter feel, plus the AGSI face insert.
Taylor Made offers several putters for players who prefer a more classic look. The Classic Siena is a blade inspired design with the weight redistributed the heel and toe areas of the club to increase MOI, MOI despite a design like this is bound to be less than the designs as decks or other forms that have a greater support. Once again, 304 stainless steel and black finish are used, as is the AGSI insert on the putter face.
The Imola is another design classic inspired by the leaf, but has lines that the most abrupt of Siena. It has more or less the same features, including improved more weight MOI in the heel and foot areas, the AGSI insert, and is made of 304 stainless steel with a black finish.
The classic model is Modena similar to Siena and has essentially the same set of characteristics, namely, design-based blade, heel and toe weighting for increased MOI, insertion AGSI in the face and 304 stainless steel with a black finish. The differences are that the Modena has a line of alignment in the putter while Siena has two, and attachment to the axis of the neck is different. In the Modena and the axis of the neck seems to be cast, and there is no set at the time.
The Daytona Classic is another design blade-type, and once again, seems to Siena. The putter head has more lines, however, and is a slightly higher ridge at the top of the putter. Most difference is undoubtedly the displacement axis of the Daytona. Once again, 304 stainless steel with a black finish is used, as is the AGSI face insert.
The Monte Carlo is a classic mallet design derivatives. The symmetrical rear flange has more weight in the toe and heel for higher MOI sections, and this is reinforced even more because the deck design puts more weight on the back of the head of the putter. All standard features are included, and the shaft joins the head at about the midpoint between the tip and heel.
The Doe Monza model is a mallet putter modern styling that is very similar to the first model Corzine described above. The main differences are that the MWT or feature movable weight technology has been added by placing two ports on the back of the center of the putter head. This model, which also uses the wire frame construction, has a black coating. Of course, we use the AGSI face insert in this model. The Monza Mid Doe is a belly putter and come in lengths of 38, 41 and 43 inches. Both have neck putters little or no connection with the shaft directly to the putter head. To model half connection is in the center of the top about halfway between the heel and toe, while the Monza standard size shaft connects Doe near the heel.
Once again, the AGSI insert technology is the only thread in all the different models of Taylor Made putter. Putters appear to be designed with sound principles, and for golfers who are in favor of Taylor Made and drivers woods, a putter offerings out it would be worth some time.
