Titleist AP2 Irons Reviews
The 2009 version irons "> Titleist AP2 irons were first seen in the stock in the Adam Scott British Open 2009 and then held by Bill Haas at the U.S. Bank Tournament. There are several names floating about including Titleist AP2, AP4 AP2B and / or AP-2710.
Titleist has found a way of combining a relatively traditional looking head with a forged cavity technology.
Performance - We will run through some things that the best players as usual. Like feel. They like a ball flight more penetrating. They like to be able to work the ball and play a variety of shots. They like a little help when your swing goes south, but do not need a boatload of game technology for improvement. There are a number of irons in the market offer all of these, but it seems that the AP-2 offer a bit more in some categories. The only area where these irons seem to be really out is forgiveness. Are these Big Bertha irons coming? No ... and are not supposed to be. Do you have that extra bit more forgiving than many similar non-irons? Yes players using These recognize that the shooting of the heel and toe are a little more like a shot and hit. The penetrating ball flight is there, the feeling is there and the feasibility is there. What more could you want?
Feel - The blow to many cavity plate is not feeling as well as a leaf. The AP-2 is the closest thing in question. The technology of vibration damping helps create a sense of strength through much of the face. Miss hits do not feel so pure, but it will not hurt. Well struck shots are a little boring compared to hit with irons others of the same category. I guess you can not have everything ...
Value - Titleist AP2 irons are competitively priced compared to other irons in the same class. Shares of Project X shafts are a good value add.
Mira - Titleist has done a good job is the combination of technology and traditional here. The AP-2 is slightly more cumbersome (both top line and only) other "players" irons but still clean enough to appeal to the majority. The color of the cavity is toned down a bit more of AP1 irons and, like AP1, they look much better in person. It's nice to see a Titleist iron it is not as "Plain Jane."
Innovation - The additional technology is not just for show ... really works. Elastomer insert helps dampen unwanted vibration and tungsten single box launch optimized. Titleist has done a great job of blending technology and appearance. Shares of Project X shafts are a great addition too. Titleist has a strong custom department and shafts are available in case of need.
Overall - The player cavity has come a long way in recent years. Companies are finding new ways to mix a clean and Technology to improve the game. The AP-2 is a good example. This club offers nearly everything a traditional film show, but adds forgiveness and a stronger feel in the face. Titleist has done a great job with them. There is a reason why this club is the choice for many Titleist players on the PGA Tour.
