Mizuno Golf Wedges have always been very popular among amateurs and professionals. The current batch of wedges are divided into three groups:
Group 1-MP T Series
The look of the T series has a straight edge that the leader of the series R - aid alignment favored by many professionals. Slots are precision milled and not simply forged the most bite or spin allowed by the rules.
The "T" stands for "Teardrop" and plant is based on feedback from travel agents to give maximum Mizuno feel and touch around the greens and come in standard or custom axles.
Mizuno think are appropriate for low to medium-high handicap. They also come in Black Nickel, which is more expensive than standard tempered carbon steel.
MP-R Series Group 2
The "R" in this series means "round" as this wedge is a more rounded design that allows a greater range of shot making and working of the ball. Like the T series can be obtained in either mild carbon steel or black nickel and a black nickel coating or finish ensures some protection against rust and is softer than traditional chrome.
The loft of these spots varies from 52 degrees to 60 degrees and can be custom or standard shaft installed with a wide range of viewing angles lie.
Group 3-MX Series
The difference with this group is that these are said to be suitable for all handicaps, while the T and R series are suitable for low to mid handicaps.
These wedges are backed cavity, unlike the other two groups, and are incredibly used. To contribute to this Mizuno have used what they call a "Y" technology that they say increases the sweet spot to allow mishits, particularly high in the toe area which is a common place to hit most fans wrong.
They also use a "Power Bar" and a "cavity Pad" that helps with the gameplay without sacrificing feel and control.
