"Quiet and fast, relaxed and fast," I said to myself constantly. I concentrated on the two runners ahead of me and tried to ignore the pain and fatigue I felt. "Just a little more to do," I said to myself it was the only way forward.

Run is hard, but can be done much easier if you can find a place of relaxation in your mind. When you do, you will be able to push yourself to run faster faster than ever before.

I was very lucky to have a great high school cross country and track coach. We are also being prepared physically for competition, which also trained our minds. Each sport season is too long, and do not have much time to get in great shape. My coach maximized the time he had to teach me to run a big secret - quiet equals fast!

When you are driving in a workout or a race, that naturally, the muscles tense up. I tend to raise the shoulders and flex the muscles of the back of my neck. I thought that this additional grimacing and sealing helped me push harder. Nope. All I really did was make the race hurt more, with me running slower. Relax your upper body and maintain calm facial expressions. In fact, it increases blood flow and allows your body to better handle lactic acid (lactic acid increased to decrease down).

My high school coach really wants us to practice to relax after our trainings. All the drivers in our team would lie in fresh grass, close your eyes and breathe slowly in and out. After a couple minutes of deep breathing, he told us to imagine our best careers, and then imagine running fast and quiet of our next race. This practice helped me relax about how much pain and manage fatigue during a workout or race difficult.

In fact, the year that began this practice relaxation and mental preparation for skiing background, we have done to another. We entered ranked 15 out of 16 teams. Our coach would go through the mental test run at the end of each week's practice in the state. I was very relaxed the day of the race, I was sharing silly stories of baseball with my teammates to just minutes before the gun went off. Later, my coach said he thought it would have been too relaxed. Nope. We were ready. In that year, we were surprised the state by finishing 2nd. Per annum Next, with far less talent that finished 2nd again. I bring this success to being able to relax in a tense atmosphere.

Now use these strategies only to get through a regular tour with some of the fastest runners I coach. I'm not as fast as I was in my younger years. Remember how I was talking to myself at the beginning of this story. The two riders that I was following two high school girl runners. If it were not for my constant reminders of, "is quickly relaxed," which would have burst out of my doors. I knew I hurt him pretty bad because I told myself to relax too.

So give it a try. 200 Run as fast as possible. Take a break and then run another 200. In the second, Do not try to sprint. Focus on performance as fast as you can without tensing the muscles. I bet in the second 200, you'll feel better and run faster!
