Golf Wedge Reverse
![]() |
The most dreaded shot in golf
The firing of long green side bunker is one of the most difficult in all areas of golf.
Having said that if you practice the following technique, the next time you're faced with this shot might just find a little easier.
This is the scenario typical
You find yourself with a good lie in a green side bunker, but this is not a normal shot. The pin is a good 20-30 yards from his location. Now, as always have to take your sand wedge and try to take a mighty swing that nips the ball cleanly. Sometimes it shoots and the ball goes out of the bunker and lands somewhere near the flag stick, making it one of the proudest golfers of all time but most times, however, the result is much less desirable. Chances are slim that ugly shot flies over the flag on the green and into the bunker or worse that is just beyond the green or worse yet she trembled and fat shot leaving his golf ball in the bunker and golf club in danger of breaking, mixed in water or left to some other unsuspecting duffer.
Never fear, here is the answer to help you when faced with this situation.
1. Do not take the sand wedge. Instead choose The pitching wedge or nine iron. The pitching wedge when used in this launch and roll beyond his sand wedge and its launch will be 9-iron and travel farther than the pitching wedge.
2. Take your normal position in the bunker with his feet pointing about 20-30 degrees to the left of the goal. Note: If you play left handed reverse the verbiage and technique will work for you too.
3. Open the face of the pitching wedge or 9-iron on his goal. This will expose the back edge of the club effective implementation of rebound club. The "bounce" will prevent the clubface from digging in the sand would leave the golf ball in the bunker or well below the hole.
4. Take a nice smooth swing and hit 1-2 inches behind the golf ball as you would a normal shot green side bunker.
5. Accelerating to a complete end and see the ball fly into the hole and release after hitting the green. The ball will roll out and end up somewhere near the hole
6. Practice with each club a little to get an idea of how far the ball fly and how far it will roll once it hits the green when using this technique and I guarantee you will save a few shots.
Enjoy your golf.
