Mazda Grabs Touring Car title

With one race left in this year's SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Touring Car program, Mazda was able to take the manufacturer's title. The title was the first company with the Mazda6 platform.

Tri-Point Motorsports' drivers Jeff Altenburg and Randy Pobst were the main actors in pursuit of Mazda title. Altenburg finished 10th and maintained his lead in the drivers' championship race, while Pobst finished 15th after being kicked off the track at the end of the race, reported JMS Motorsports Marketing.

"Congratulations to Mazda to win the SPEED World Challenge Championship Touring Car Manufacturer! I am proud of motorsports team three points for their participation in win after many years of trying so hard. Now we head to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the final Championship resolve to drive! "Said Altenburg's # 72 Tri-Point MAZDA6.

"We were strangely off the pace this weekend. The Tri Point Motorsports team was extremely professional as ever, and the ingredients were all there in my Mazda6, but the package does not net the results expected. This series is so competitive that it was a little be relegated to the back of the field rather quickly. From my position on the grid and during the race, All I could do was take care of my search for the drivers' title, "said Altenburg." Keeping an eye on the competition, kept me out Car # 72 of the distress and took her home and was even able to increase my points lead ahead of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. We have some crazy rain footage with our Chase cameras, and even in the wet, my brakes were great stop Tech. Thanks to Tony Manzer and Dean Dodge for being there to provide technical support for our motors and dampers Comptech Sachs. "

The time scheduled for 45 minutes Touring Car race was wet, but Tri-Point both drivers were happy for the condition. This is because they know their MAZDA6 have generally been quick in the rain. Matter of fact, the efficiency of the car is mega in the rain compared to title = "Mazda RX7 parts"> Mazda RX7 parts.

"In the rain on the parade lap at Road Atlanta, was optimistic. I am normally very well in these conditions, and my Mazda 6 felt much better in the rain at Mosport in practice. Well, after a good start, were severely beaten in the second lap of the race by an overzealous competitor. The suspension was bent, but we were able to continue in a wounded condition, which is much better than the Mid-Ohio "Pobst said of # 73 Tri-Point MAZDA6.

"A difficult race became a tragic comedy when a friend kicked him Mazda and I in the gravel at the last corner. At Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca! Special thanks to Tri-Point Motorsports, Mazdaspeed, Chase Cam, Stop Tech, WeatherTech, optimization April, Team Janica Racing ... what an adventure! "He said Pobst.

The Tri-Point team is now heading to the end of the second Raceway Laguna Seca, near Monterey, California. Will commence on 19 and end on 21 this month. With the title insurance Mazda hand, the fight will be between Altenburg and Pobst.

This season, the transcendental racing event is sponsored by Mazda, Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development, Racing Hart, Stop Technology, Sparco, Chase Cam, Master Crocotile, neighborhood, Ron Davis Racing, Hawk, USA Pro Parts, Race Sign Specialists.
