Understanding Dubai
A relatively new tourist destination, Dubai has gained in popularity in recent years. It is essentially a desert city with superb infrastructure, liberal policies and excellent tourist services. Just 5 hours from Europe and 3 hours of most of Asia, Dubai makes a great short break for shopping, partying, sunbathing, fine dining, sporting events, and even a few sinful pleasures. It is a city of superlatives: the largest faster, higher and higher biggest, Dubai is the destination.
The weekly rest day is Friday. Government departments are Friday and Saturday, while many multinationals are Friday and Saturday. Most local companies work a half day on Thursday. Note that, since September 2006, a harmonized weekend Friday and Saturday approved for the sector public schools.
Dubai Weather
The city of Dubai is located in a coastal strip bordered by desert and gets very hot and humid in the summer. Cooler, more pleasant weather lasts from late September to early May. By bus

Road names can also be very confusing with slight differences in spelling (due to transliteration from Arabic) it is very important. Construction work is taking place throughout and around Dubai can make finding your destination a challenge. temporary road designs change with alarming regularity and temporary signs can be misleading or nonexistent.

There is zero tolerance for drinking and driving with out severe penalties, including jail and deportation.

By boat
An easier way to cross the Dubai Creek Open is essentially a small ferry. Abra stations are located along the creek on both the Bur Dubai and Deira sides, and the filling system is very efficient ships. The travel across the river 1 dirham (AED 1) per passenger, to pay the driver after the boat has left the station, and offers a picturesque view of the city (not to be lost.) Frequently left open, and the service is available throughout the day.
Abras can also be hired for a private tour (for a price negotiable with the driver, but usually very cheap). This is a popular activity at sunset on a clear day, especially if the driver is able to enliven the tour with stories about the structures on both sides the stream. Just make sure that the purpose of your open car hire is evident in the first place - otherwise you'll be on a trip across the river very expensive or a private tour crowded.
The Creek is also home to many boats offering more comfortable (and more expensive) tours, often in boats designed to resemble dhows. Prices tend to top of the scale, particularly for dinner cruises with entertainment on board.
