The R9 TaylorMade Drivers
Although TaylorMade produce a driver called "R9, R9 is also a family of technologies applied several drivers. Here is a list of drivers and the technologies they use.
- R9 / TP - FCT, MWT, ICT, UTWT
- R9-460 / TP: - FCT, 460 cc, ICT, UTWT
- SuperTri R9: - FCT, MWT, 460 cc, ICT, UTWT
- Superdeep R9: - FCT, schedule maritime labor, 460 cc, ICT, UTWT
The Technology
- FCT (Control Technology Flight)
- MWT (Movable weight technology)
- 460cc Head (Head maximized volume)
- ICT (Inverted Cone) and UTWT (Wall of ultra-thin technology)
The common theme among all models R9 is FCT or flight control technology. This technology allows you to change the plane of the conductor to the impact of the ball. When you release the clubhead with a special key, turning the head, and hardening of the head back, the player will find that the level of contact with the ball change from closed to open and loft as well. Through experimentation, the player may be likely to find a configuration that is optimal for that player.
weight mobile technology is the second major R9-line technology. This technology allows the player to adjust the weight from heel to toe the clubhead. Undoubtedly, this seems to result in more coherent unit, putting the center in MOI most appropriate position for player. As in the FCT, MWT can be adjusted by the player. However, it is present in all models and technology that are applied differently. When the R9/TP has not 460. And where has the R9 Superdeep three weight system, the Superdeep only has a two-weight.
The 460cc head size seems to be a common occurrence these days manufacturers. TaylorMade has taken the 460cc head in other models (like the Burner TP Superfast). Logic says that a bigger head equals more forgiveness. For those (yes, I am one) do not always arrive at impact with the ball on the sweet spot this can be a godsend. Note however that not all models use the larger head.
Both technologies have been brought forward from previous years and models are used throughout the family R9. ICT (Inverted Cone Technology) is in place to make the sweet spot as large as possible, adding to forgiveness. UTWT (Ultra-Thin Wall Technology) allows designers to remove the head the weight of the walls of the head and move it to adjust the center of gravity or to be used in the weighting system (MWT). Thus, the weight moves into position desired without increasing the total weight of the club.
Look
The R9 look has been designed around a black finish. In several places in the club find pieces of silver setting, but the overall impression is of a black animal impressive. While the club looks like it was designed by an aeronautical engineer (Maybe it was ...) the way is not only functional. It is a beautiful club to remove from his bag.
More
There is more to learn about R9 family. The standard shafts vary from one club to another. The R9 Superdeep has a specially designed face (2.5 "). CG (center of gravity) varies from club to club. The list is long and interesting!
Conclusion
TaylorMade drivers have won three decades and have produced a large number clubs in their line R9. They are successful on tour and in the store. I encourage you to check at your local store. In my website you will find more information about R9 drivers and other clubs in the arsenal of TaylorMade. Try R9 drivers and see what they can do for your game!
