Mike Adams, founder of the Consumer Wellness Center Discusses Safe and Healthy Sweeteners

This interview is an excerpt from Kevin Gianni The year of your life Sano In the program can be found at http://www.thehealthiestyearofyourlife.com. In this excerpt, Mike Adams weighs on sweeteners among them one to avoid and one to test. Also shares a great resource for natural health.

The Healthiest Year of Your Life Excerpt with Mike Adams, founder of the Center for Consumer Health and online retailer, Goods better life. An author and speaker, Mike's mission is to spread the message of natural nutrition and healing.

Kevin, Let's talk about fake food. I talk a lot of artificial sweeteners and chemicals. I was working with a personal training client of mine who is well known in the medical field and loved diet soda. I just could not get out of it and could not get the fact. I gave him a book. I think it was sweet poison. I think it is a book by Janet Starr Hull and that neither even read it.

Mike: Oh, man.

Kevin: What are some of the best natural sweeteners that people can use with confidence?

Mike: Okay. Well, my number one recommendation of a natural sweetener that has basically zero glycemic index is called stevia. This is the sweet leaf herb and grows in Paraguay and grows in the Andes in South America and is 300 times sweeter than sugar. It has been used throughout the world now for many, many years and really is a great option, but does have some bitterness. Some people do not like that. The key is to blend with other low glycemic natural sweeteners, for example, brown rice syrup as a sweetener is actually very good for use on the natural side.

Kevin: Very good.

Mike: There is nothing wrong with that. Another to consider is molasses. Why molasses? Because if you think about it, when they are refined sugar cane off the field, they have it in these large plants processing and compression of all minerals and vitamins and that kind of put a pile of debris. Then the nutrients used white sugar comes out the other side and that's what ship from food plants for human consumption. The pile of waste, which is molasses. Everything you took from sugar cane is supposed to be there, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, which is in the molasses and is therefore dark. That's what you should eat. When you eat molasses, you are actually eating concentrated nutrients from cane sugar without all the calories.

Kevin: Wow.

Mike: Yes. Again, some people say well, I do not like the taste of molasses. Well, get used to it. I'm tired of people complaining about me all the time about me not like the taste of this or that. Well, guess what? Your tastes change. If you just stop eating sugar for 30 days and stop eating salt and MSG and fried foods for 30 days, the language will change.

Kevin: Yes.

Mike: You will be able to experience the subtleties of foods rich in nutrients, but it will never taste like a bag of Doritos, because it is much better than the bag of Doritos.

Kevin: I think the issue of fighting would be like the taste of 1500 calorie diabetic diet the doctor wear?

Mike: Yes, or worse, how do you like the taste of vomit after you have chemotherapy? Sometimes I'm a little blunt about these issues.

Kevin: Yes. That is something strong.

Mike: But it's true. People are like, Well, I'm not willing to make these changes in diet to prevent cancer. Sometimes they say, "I do not want to eat my vegetables. I do not want to take these medicinal mushrooms. I do not want eat spirulina. "But after you get diagnosed with cancer and they will go to 8-12 weeks of hell and hair fall. They are going to undergo chemotherapy.'ll Be sick and can not eat anything and who are losing weight, diarrhea, and feel very bad and many of them die, but why is that okay. People are willing to do that, but are not willing to eat their grain. Are you kidding? I do not understand that, but as I said, everyone at a different stage in his own personal journey. Sometimes people wake up earlier than others and sometimes people do not awake. I'm not judging anyone for it. We are all in a different place and that's fine.

Kevin: Yes. What about agave nectar? It is popular now, in supermarkets, and even can be found in some supermarkets.

Mike: Yes. I like the fact that it is really low on the glycemic index, although it varies widely by manufacturer. I've seen anywhere 13-35. A large amount of variation depends on there and where it comes from.

Kevin: Okay. Now, do things like honey vary like that, too?

Mike: Yes, indeed. The darker honey is actually lower on the glycemic index. So really, if you're dealing with agave nectar or honey molasses or the darker the better.

Kevin: Okay.

Mike: The other thing to consider is that if you drink vegetable juice fresh while you're eating the honey or other sweetener to stabilize the blood sugar effect of a great, great.

Kevin: Very good.

Mike: So it is like to be able to reduce the sugar hit of any other food by drinking vegetable juice with him. You can also use culinary herbs, like cinnamon. Cinnamon reduces blood sugar levels very hard, better than diabetes drugs, in fact. So you can use a lot of things together with your sugar intake to stabilize and do not have a big spike. Of course, I would say the best long-term longevity Eating a low glycemic diet and that means more vegetable juices. sugar liquids both in terms of consumption of sugar and of course not. I think the syrup high fructose corn is like liquid sugar crack.

Kevin: Yes.

Mike: That stuff is so dangerous and is, I believe, a large part of why our country is so overweight and obese right now.

Kevin: What is the difference between something like a syrup, high fructose corn syrup and brown rice?

Mike: Well, the glycemic index is very different in it and rice syrup Brown is more of a syrup, whole foods, while corn syrup, high fructose is really just an isolated extract from corn.

I actually contacted by the Corn Refiners Association of America after one of my articles on the corn syrup and high fructose told me - that reminded me big snuff swear that nicotine is not addictive. They told me: "Mike, how can you do this? How can you say those things? We believe that corn syrup High fructose is a nutritive ingredient prepared by Midwestern farmers who work hard and are growing corn. "It was like they did this look something like this was the healthiest food they can possibly consume.

But that would be great if farmers were instead growing far more profitable hemp. For example, we can get hemp seeds, which are rich in omega-3 oil and we can be improving your health and enrich farmers to grow hemp Instead of growing more corn to create high-fructose corn syrup.

Kevin: Of course.

Mike: So again, that's a case that if the consumer demand and stop sifted ingredients and require a shift to something healthier, the farmers decided to switch their crops.

Kevin: Is the hemp grown in the U.S. Now?

Mike: Not legally, no.

Kevin: It is cultivated in Canada.

Mike: Yes. Exactly.

Kevin: What will it take to get grown here?

Mike: Well, I do not know. It will take a political miracle, because the war on drugs has focused on industrial hemp, which is not a smokable drug. It is a fantastic source of textiles. It can be grown without pesticides. It can be used to make biofuels and the usage of hemp seeds very rich in nutrients, but because the political environment in this country will not allow hemp to be grown here. So to import everything from Canada and U.S. farmers are suffering.

Kevin: Yes.

Mike: It's one of those political decisions only absolutely crazy that remains in force. It's like the situation where all our pasteurized almonds are now in this country.

Kevin: That's effective now?

Mike: That's happening now. I have spoken with the owners of companies that use raw almonds in their products and must now import them from Spain.

Kevin: Really?

Mike: Yes. So we have decision makers in the U.S. they are only the destruction U.S. farmers and then wonder why they have to subsidize farmers because everyone is going broke.

Kevin: Wow. Why do not you just comment briefly on where people can find some of the information you give. I just think that is a tremendous resource and I think we need a little more mention.

Mike: Okay. Sure. www.Newstarget.com is the website and we have over 22,000 free articles. We have over 20 free reports that you can download at this time interviews, exclusive reports. We have photo tours in which we are examining the food products. We have videos and all sorts of things and we are constantly adding to it. It is quickly becoming the top website of natural health news on the Internet. So thanks for letting me stopper, Kevin.

Kevin: Yes. Of course. I think it's good for people to really realize the amount of people going to the site for information. This is not your friend's blog.

Mike: No.

Kevin: This is the real deal.

Mike: We have a team of writers and researchers, and we have an office with a staff together. Yes, we're hitting about 800,000 readers a month now and the only reason why are we doing this - because they do not advertise the site. The only reason we're doing that level is because we put information out there people value. We can even go to nutritional supplement companies. I get on the phone and we can offer you a really big deal to our readers? Do can offer something for free or 60% off or something? And they said yes and we put out on the website. So we can get people the best deals, too on healthy products. That's something I believe in doing it, too, support the companies that are doing the right things in terms of nutritional supplements living and green products and so on.

Kevin: Yes. Well, that's great, Mike. I want to thank you so much for your time here. Your time is valuable, as we all know and share this information, I am sure everyone will hear at least take some notes and got something from him. Every time I talk to you I get something from him, so I'm sure that there was no information out there that you just give someone who will take and run with.

Mike: I believe that too. I hope you find something of value. Remember, the number one thing to me and are reading labels. If that's the one thing I remember from all this discussion, read the ingredients. If you do not recognize what it is, do not buy it.

If it seems introduction to a book of Chemistry 101, then let on the shelf. You do not need those things.

Kevin: So again, Mike, thank you very much for your time. I really appreciate it.
