Wedge Golf Club

There can be no better way to immediately reduce your golf scores for your makeup kit. For a very long time the typical set of golf clubs has been what is known as a 8-3-1 set. This means that there are 3 wood, driver, wood, 3 -, and 5 wood. The eight plates in this configuration are typically 3-iron through pitching wedge, and the last club is the putter. This leaves room for two clubs, usually the sand wedge and one other club in the player's choice.

The golf club set is designed to allow the player to reach the greens in regulation, (A shot at the par 3, 2 to 4 and 3 in 5) without spaces in the distance. If there are gaps distance not allow the player to reach in regulation, the ratings go up. Footage gaps are very common in players with swing speeds slow, especially older people and women.

There have been many technological advances in recent years that should lead to general disadvantages of the low. Some Golf purists worry that these technological advances are, or will hurt the game. But these people have not addressed the fact that technical advances have not reduced the average handicap in more than 30 years. Progress has been mostly in the area of the distance. Everyone wants more distance. I've never had a client tell me "I want less distance so you can hit more greens." Club and realize the designers of this axis and focus research on earnings away. But the question remains, with all these technological advances why the overall results are not falling? Let's look at a couple of reasons.

As mentioned iron before setting the current set of eight irons, 3-iron - pitching wedge. The public wants the golf clubs to hit the ball farther. In order to meet this demand, the club manufacturers have used two strategies. The output of the clubs that have stronger lofts and are longer. The lengths of the clubs have increased over time. Comparing the lengths of the clubs in the 60's and 70's with current length, you will see that the lengths are 1 inch longer now. The lofts also have been stronger. These two facts make it more difficult to hit long irons. The following table illustrates this.

 1980 of 1960 was present Loft Loft Loft Club Length Length Length 1-iron 17 * 39 / "16 * 39.5 /" 15 * 40 / " 2-iron 20 38.5 19 39.5 39 17 3-iron 24 38 22 20 38.5 39 4-iron 28 37.5 25 38.5 38 23 5-iron 32 37 28 26 38 37.5 6-iron 36 36.5 32 37 30 37.5 7-iron 40 36 36 34 37 36.5 8-iron 44 35.5 40 36 38 36.5 9-iron 48 35 44 42 36 35.5 Pw 52 35 48 35 46 35.5 Sw 56 35 55 35 54 35.5

As can see, the 3-iron today is the same as the 2-iron loft the 60, only half an inch long. Clubs today have the equivalent loft and are about 0.5 "longer than the 60 clubs. The quest has led to gaps distance yards in most games players." Gaps stronger and clubs have created with the lowest points clubs, and did it very difficult to hit long irons ever. Furthermore, studies show that the average golfer can not hit an iron with less loft of 24 degrees with some consistency.

The gaps created by the clubs stronger and longer, and the difficulty of hitting long irons makes the traditional set makeup of 3 - pw less effective. It also has the golf clubs to pay will not be used.

I do not recommend to any player average carrying an iron longer than the 4. Moreover, the average player must be carrying at least one additional wedge. The hybrids and / or additional fairway woods must complete the set. Putters fit in a proper and balanced should be considered by the majority of strokes (about half), are taken with the putter.

Knowing the distance to hit the clubs, to determine where gaps exist, and then fill in the gaps with constantly hitting clubs can save you strokes.
