Using finite element analysis (FEA) driven
by a Cray Supercomputer, company engineers optimized the crown of the driver of the G-10, the only structure interaction and face to ensure maximum energy transfer to the ball. The 460cc driver features a larger profile with a higher face and deeper crown that produces a moment high inertia for greater forgiveness and increased ball velocity.
Thinner crown and face designs

The 17-4 stainless steel plates G-10 were designed with extreme toe weighting to increase the low the moment of inertia for added forgiveness and consistency. The large perimeter weighted head features a new, larger single cavity.
The center gravity is positioned away from the face and low in the club head to promote higher launch, less spinning shots. By creating a new form for the Custom Tuning Port (CTP), PING engineers stabilized the hitting area to produce consistent ball velocity across the entire clubface. The Ping is 17-4 stainless steel hybrid G-10 designed with a sloped crown to create a major release, solid feeling, versatile alternative to mid and long irons. Six lofts provide options replacement of the No. 1-iron through No. 6-iron in addition to fairway woods.
Discretionary weight from the crown and face is combined into one platform weight which runs parallel to the ground that the positions of the CG ( center of gravity ) low and back to increase launch angle and reduce spin.
